Indian Winter overhauls pacesetter City Cool to win San Pedro

Indian Winter steadily reeled in pacesetter City Cool and edged past in the final strides for a half-length score in the $80,600 San Pedro Stakes for three-year-olds on Monday at Santa Anita Park. The dark bay or brown colt by Indian Charlie won one of two starts at two, finishing third in the Del Mar Futurity (G1) in his final start of 2010. Indian Winter earned his first stakes victory in the San Pedro by covering 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:15.23 on a track rated as fast.
